As an independent agency, we search for the best company that fits your needs. We do not represent one company. In fact, we represent over 50 different top-rated insurance companies and will recommend the one that fits best.

The Granite works with clients of all sizes. Whether you have a company with hundreds of employees or are looking for coverage as an individual, we have the expertise and know-how to assist you.

Today's market is rapidly changing. In selecting a health insurance broker, it is vitally important that one is chosen who is up to date with all the changes mandated by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). We are certified with New York State to act as a broker for both the group and individual exchanges. We also work with an outside law firm to help ensure employers are in compliance with all the new regulations mandated by ACA.

In an effort to help reduce costs, The Granite specializes in traditional and non-traditional plans such as health savings accounts, health reimbursement arrangements, and flexible spending accounts.

Some with the carriers we work with are:

Life Insurance

There are so many instances where life insurance is needed...

Starting a family, mortgage protection, getting married (or getting divorced), retiring (choosing the best pension option), estate planning, college funding, final expenses, or business life needs (such as buy-sell policies and executive bonuses).

Whatever you need, The Granite offers the right product to fit its clients' needs from the dozens of term-like policies as well as those that build cash values such as whole and universal lifef insurance.

Disability Insurance

What happens if, due to an injury or illness, you were unable to work again? How could you support yourself, let alone your family? Disability insurance will replace your lost income and should be a key piece of your insurance portfolio. Most policies will pay a monthly benefit tax free until retirement age or beyond. Business owners are also eligible for coverage that keeps your business going in case of this need.

Long Term Care Insurance

According to the New York State Department of Health, the average cost of a nursing home is almost $400 per day or $15,000 per year on Long Island. Also, 2 out of every 3 people over age 65 will require some form of long term care in their lifetime. Medicare pays very little, if any, towards these costs and Medicaid requires a significant "spend down" of your assets before they pay.

The good news is a long term care policy will cover these costs, thereby protecting your assets for your beneficiaries. Long term policies are so much more than simply covering the cost of a nursing home. It also includes home healthcare, assisted living facilities, and adult day care centers. It can come in the form of skilled care, which is the most intensive; intermediate care, similar to skilled care except that it is provided on a periodic basis; and custodial care, which involves assistance with the normal activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
